These hand-painted wine glasses are the epitome of gorgeousness in person, and are the the exact right size and shape. I adore the deco-style painted label, and they make me feel both unique and classy. Of course, since I love all things vintage, retro, and/or antique, these glasses, reminiscent of 1920s wine ads, are a perfect fit for me stylistically, and make me feel as if I were an ex-pat in 1920s Paris. What's that you say? Ernest is waiting for me at the the bar at the Ritz as he downs his single-malt scotch? Oh, well, Mr. Hemingway will just have to do without me this evening, as I'm going to spend a quiet night at home drinking a dry, oaky chardonnay out of these glasses, while contemplating literature and jazz. In all seriousness, though, these glasses are damn near perfect.
However, it appeared to both me and my family that the packaging they were shipped in was inadequate and did not provide enough padding. Because of this, at least one from each pair we purchased arrived broken. Merlot Wine Glass, is the other style of glass that I purchased. I bought two of each, so that at least two people could imbibe, regardless of whether they were drinking red or white, at any given time. They are as equally lovely as the Chardonnay Wine Glass, but, since they're made by the same maufacturer as the chardonnay glasses, of course, one is as equally broken.
I will provide an update after dealing with the manufacturer and acquiring replacements, at which point, I will address issues such as promptness of replacement, improvements in the packaging of the glasses and its' appropriateness for shipping, and, also, customer service at the time of delivery. Since they're fragile by nature and I know they can get tossed around in trucks, sorting centers, and the like, I'm going to assume, for the time-being, that the breakage was due to the shipping process, and to inadequate padding and packaging, and not due to a flaw in the glass itself. If the new ones also break more easily than one would expect, I'll be downgrading my rating and revising my review. On that note, wish me luck in dealing with the CSR and in getting my glasses safely aand promptly shipped. Cheers!
